Side-chain conformation of the M2 transmembrane peptide proton channel of influenza A virus from [super 19]F solid-state NMR
Article Abstract:
A [super 19]F spin diffusion NMR method called CODEX is used for measuring the oligomeric states and interhelical side chain-side chain [super 19]F-[super 19]F distances at many residues by using fluorinated M2 transmembrane peptide (M2TMP) bound to DMPC bilayers. The [super 19]F-[super 19]F distances have indicated a mixture of dimers and tetramers for V27F-M2TMP, whereas the L38F-M2TMP data has indicated two tetramers of different sizes, suggesting side chain conformational heterogeneity at the lipid-facing residue.

Stacking effects on local structures in RNA: isoG-isoC pairs replace changes in the structure of tandem GA pairs when flanking GC pairs
Article Abstract:
The thermodynamic stabilities of tandem GA pairs lined by Watson-Crick like isoG-isoC (iGiC) pairs along with the NMR structures of the RNA self-complementary duplexes [(GCiCCAiCGCA).sub.2] and [(GGiCGAiGCCA).sub.2] are presented. The outcomes provide a standard for testing computations of molecular interactions that shape RNA three-dimensional structure and give the power to forecast structure, stability, and dynamics for other internal loops.

Curing processes in solvent-borne alkyd coatings with different drier combinations
Article Abstract:
Two effects observed in the solvent-borne alkyd coatings are investigated. One is when Ca and Zr are added as secondary driers the speed is observed cross-linking front increases and the second, in the deeper up-cross-linked region below the front, the signal of the NMR profiles is found to decrease proportional to square root of t.
